Dorset-based insurance broker Alan & Thomas Insurance Group has announced the appointment of Peter Matcham as the new head of its aviation insurance division.
An experienced insurance professional with over eighteen years in broking, Peter has a long established background in the aviation field and is a qualified pilot with over twenty three years flying experience.
Having first learnt to fly at the age of fifteen, Peter took his first solo flight a few days after his 16th birthday and after graduating from university, he obtained his PPL from Southampton. He continued to fly SEP and micro-lights for the following ten years and has recently moved away from flying Pipers and Cessna back to open
Peter is thrilled with his new role, explaining, “Aviation is a long-standing passion of mine. I have always kept up-to-date with developments in the sector and appreciate the challenges facing pilots, aircraft owners and businesses in today’s Alan & Thomas has been operating in the aviation market since March 2012 following a broker acquisition and in this time has developed close working relationships with a number of the UK’s leading aviation insurers.”
