Biggin Hill unveils business development plans

Biggin Hill Airport has unveiled proposals to create thousands of new jobs and slash aircraft noise despite operating later into the night. The strategy, according to a statement from the airport, is to continue to focus on business aviation.
A representative from the airport has said that the change is coming because Biggin Hill is currently underused and the site has been identified by the Government as an area of strategic growth.
The proposal means to build more hangars and offices so more companies can be based at Biggin Hill, creating more jobs and enabling the airport to stay open later and become more competitive. There is also a plan to develop a local training college.
The proposal states, ‘Biggin Hill should continue as a small airport supporting Business and General Aviation and not used by scheduled airline and holiday charter services. We need to make better use of our facilities to secure Biggin Hill’s future as a successful small business airport that creates well-paid jobs for Bromley residents.’
Noise reduction plans will be implemented by keeping aircraft ‘higher for longer’ which will lead to a 50% reduction in the noise footprint for the airport.
The airport is seeking feedback on its proposal from any users of Biggin Hill. Have your say <a href=’http://www.bigginhillfuture.co.uk/have-your-say.html’ target=’_blank’>here.</a>
