Bonhomme's response to Rio rain

Following his third place in a rain-effected race in Rio, 2009 Red Bull champion, Paul Bonhomme, spoke exclusively to FLYER.
“Lucky or unlucky? I reckon we’ve done well here to leave Rio with 9 points… Slightly frustrating as it would have been nice to have the opportunity to race and try and win, but equally we could have lost too! It’s interesting that as a team, we are annoyed with the third place… roll on Windsor for some racing!
“Regarding the weather decision, in hindsight perhaps the race organisation should have just run the Super 8 and then the Final 4 rounds… but hindsight is a wonderful thing!
“The track here was, on paper, fairly simple but in reality a very technical track to fly. As the wind changed so did the ideal line but more subtly than I have ever experienced before. Perhaps it was to do with the higher speeds in the track – if you drifted off line, you’d go a long way in the wrong direction and hence spend more time getting back on track. Either way, it was a great fun track to fly.”
