Cabair acquires Wellesbourne Aviation

Cabair Flying Schools Ltd has revealed that it has acquired Wellesbourne Aviation, based at Wellesbourne Aerodrome in Warwickshire.

According to a press release, the school “will maintain its senior management team and all staff it will continue to provide the high quality pilot training for which it is renowned.” Cabair already has schools at Bournemouth, Blackbushe, Biggin Hill, Cranfield, Denham, Elstree, Rochester and Wycombe so Wellesbourne will help spread Cabair’s brand to the Midlands.

Wellesbourne Aviation’s previous part-owner – now General Manager – Peter Newbold, says: “We are delighted to become part of the Cabair Group and look forward to working with them to make Wellesbourne Aviation one of the leading PPL schools in the country. We have a very young fleet having invested heavily in new aircraft over the last eight years. We believe in teaching people to fly using the most up-to-date equipment available.” The school currently operates nine aircraft, including five Robin HR200s, two PA-28 Warriors and a PA-28 Arrow.

Cabair is the largest flight training group in Europe, achieving some 65,000 flying hours from their fleet of over 150 aircraft. The company also has affiliate bases in Spain, the USA and Canada.
