Cessna Mustang gets EASA approval

Cessna has announced that it has gained EASA certification for its Citation Mustang. The announcement was made at the EBACE – the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition – in Switzerland.

The Mustang already has a head start over its VLJ rivals (although, technically, Cessna refers to the Mustang as an ‘entry-level business jet’ rather than a VLJ); Cessna claims it is the first such jet to gain both US and European certification.

Several examples of the type have already been delivered to US owner, and European deliveries are expected to start later this summer.

The Mustang also gained approval to land at airports with approach angles steeper than 4.5 degrees, which means that it is approved to come into London City Airport, which has a glideslope angle of 5.5 degrees.
