Cirrus announces increased load for SR22/SR22T

Cirrus Aircraft has increased load carrying capability for the SR22 and SR22T.
The changes were introduced with its new SR-Series aircraft lineup for 2013, which Cirrus is calling ‘Generation 5’. Increasing the certified gross weight to 3,600lb (1,633kg) for both SR22 and SR22T, the new available load allows capability for an extra person, substantial extra baggage or cargo while carrying more fuel in both of these five-seat aircraft.
According to Cirrus, a standard SR22 is a true “four-seat airplane that can carry four people and full fuel,” and SR22 and SR22T models now have five seats total and can carry all five FAA-standard passengers non-stop over 700 nautical miles.
Cirrus states that Generation 5 also includes aerodynamic improvements and changes to the CAPS (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System) system, including an increased canopy size, a rocket extraction system and an electrical rocket igniter.
The SR22/SR22T has been the best selling GA aircraft for over a decade. Deliveries of the 2013 aircraft are already underway.
