EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency, has granted full type certification for the Cessna 400 Corvalis TT (twin turbo). The Corvalis was formerly known as the Columbia 400, before Columbia was bought by Cessna in late 2007.
The type is perfectly suited for the Europe, said John Doman, vice president of Cessna’s Worldwide Propeller Aircraft Sales, describing it as ‘a market that has been clamoring for a new, high-performance aircraft like the 400 Corvalis TT.’
The 400 TT has a range of 1,250nm – a good European range – and claims the title of the world’s fastest fixed-gear single-engine piston aircraft with a top speed of 235kt and a service ceiling of 25,000ft.
Cessna dealer Patriot Aviation tells us that it has several Corvalis 400 TTs on order, and expects first deliveries during the middle of the year; it also hopes to have a demonstrator in the country towards the end of March.
