Crowfield Airfield has joined the growing list of UK airfields selling Total’s UL 91 unleaded Avgas.
At the time of writing, Crowfield is selling Avgas UL 91 at £1.58 per litre excluding VAT, £1.90 per litre including VAT.
Ross Williamson, Manager at Crowfield Airfield, explained, “I’d had several requests from our resident aircraft owners about it, wondering if I was going to start stocking it, so I’ve put it on to see what demand is like – hopefully if we get a good response it can stay. Nowhere else in Suffolk that offers it, and to my knowledge nowhere in Norfolk either, so it was worth taking a chance. So far we’re about a month in and it’s going pretty well. We also still provide 100LL, and it’s great to be able to offer the choice of both fuels for resident and visiting pilots.”
The fuel – essentially the same as 100LL but without traethyl lead – is manufactured by Air Total and endorsed by Rotax.
