DeltaHawk diesel latest

Back in the June 2010 issue of FLYER, in our round-up of diesel aero engines, we commented that ‘DeltaHawk seems to be approaching limited production and hopes to have certification soon.’
Well after a number of deadlines passing, it appears that a new target of 2011 might have some weight behind it. According to reports, the project has recently benefitted from a number of investors coming forward, combined with the company signing leases for a new production plant and headquarters.
The DeltaHawk engine is aimed at the Lycoming/Continental segment of the GA market, offering engine outputs of 160, 180 and 200hp. A recent report from the company suggests that it is aiming to sell in excess of 900 engines by its third year in production, with it targeting General Aviation, military drone markets and the generator industry. Click here for more
