Diamond Aircraft offers first look at DA-62

Austrian aircraft manufacturer Diamond Aircraft has shared news on its latest project, with the first photos and details of its new five-seat DA-62 twin.
The aircraft is under development at Diamond’s home base in Austria, and is is similar in appearance to the DA-52 prototype that first flew in 2012.
Diamond’s website states ‘Our newest twin engine aircraft is designed to give enormous freedom of movement and further enhances your travel experience. The large cabin is designed to offer passengers a comfortable seating and sets new standards in general aviation. A compelling mix of distinctive styling, consistent lightweight carbon design and superior flying dynamics is what the DA62 delivers.’ Nothing is revealed of the production and deliveries schedule, other than that the aircraft is “coming soon.”
Early reports suggest that power in the DA-62 could come from the new six-cylinder, 280 horsepower AE500 diesel engine under development at subsidiary Austro Engine, or the AE300 originally planned for the DA-52.
