e-Go aeroplanes Ltd has launched a new crowdfunding initiative to raise up to £800,000 for what it describes as ‘the continuing development, refinement and production of its innovative light aircraft design.

The company is launching the scheme through www.syndicateroom.com, allowing new investors to join the company for as little as a £500 stake.
e-Go’s Executive Chairman, Malcolm Bird, explained, “Existing investors have already covered around half of our new investment target, and this initiative allows the many individuals and enthusiasts who have contacted us wishing to become a part of e-Go to do just that.”
Interest in the SSDR aircraft has heightened since the successful first flight of the prototype on 17 October.
Flight trials and ground testing of the e-Go prototype continues as a prelude to starting production in the fourth quarter of 2014. Customer deliveries are planned for first quarter 2015 at a sales cost of around £50,000 plus VAT.
