On 6-7 July race pilot Dan Pangbourne with his navigator father David Pangbourne won both Saturday and Sunday races for the Rolls Royce Merlin and Airborne Trophies at Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, flying in their Grumman AA5 Race 8.
The weekend saw Enniskillen airport in Northern Ireland host its very first air race weekend and visiting pilots experienced perfect summer weather and a field of 11 race competitors ranging from a 1959 Piper Clipper to the RV-7.
The 100th Anniversary Schneider Air Race is being held on Alderney 28th and 29th September this year but our next race in Shobdon 17th & 18th August, new race pilots and spectators are all welcome.
