Flight Design to launch 4-seat C4 at AERO 2011

Flight Design, the German company behind the range of CT and MC microlights and LSAs, will debut a full scale model of their four-seat C4 at Aero 2011, with the company soliciting input from pilots and flight schools on ways to optimize the design for their uses.
Chief Technical Officer, Oliver Reinhardt, told FLYER, “We want to create the optimal four-seater aircraft for our customers… Engineers often put emphasis on certain features on a new design, while a flight school or a private owner might want something we did not consider. So we are putting our concept and the C4 design out for the public to participate in the process.”
In addition to surveys at AERO and Sun n Fun 2011, there will be an opportunity for everyone to be part of the design development via an online survey, with all participants being entered into a draw for a Garmin AREA 500 GPS as a prize.

The company will finalise the new aircraft’s specification later this year and produce a prototype in time for Aero 2012. The plan is to certify the C4 to several international standards including Part 23 in the United States. Click here for more
