FLYER writer wins top aviation journalism award

FLYER magazine’s focus on producing the highest quality of aviation journalism has resulted in one of its most popular writers winning a leading award for journalism.
Justin Cox (pictured) won the award for the Best Maintenance Submission at the Aerospace Journalist of the Year Awards for his piece Oil For A Smooth Life, which appeared in the November 2009 issue of FLYER.
Five other FLYER writers were also shortlisted at the prestigious awards ceremony, which took place on July 18 at the Park Lane Hotel in London. The shortlisted writers were Brian Lecomber, Oli Tennent, Richard Boswell, David Mackay and Ian Waller. This means that FLYER had far more shortlisted writers than any other UK-based General Aviation magazine.
FLYER Editor, Ian Waller, commented: “Justin’s success at the awards, along with having so many other FLYER writers shortlisted for awards across four different categories, really does demonstrate both the depth of talented writers on the magazine and the work that we put into producing quality editorial. All of the writers mentioned work regularly for the magazine and, alongside a dedicated team, help to make FLYER the UK’s best and brightest General Aviation title.”
