There are four free landing fees for August 2025 – and all four of the airfields have been with FLYER‘s free landings scheme for at least 15 years.

The airfields are:

Manchester Barton
The airport officially opened in January 1930 with scheduled services by Imperial Airways to London’s Croydon Airport. Today, it’s home to many fixed-wing and rotary operators and a thriving GA community including the Lancashire Aero Club. More info
Hours:
Mon to Thurs – 0900-1800 (local) (or sunset if earlier).
Fri to Sun – 0900-1900 (local) (or sunset if earlier).
Fuel:
Avgas 100LL (self-service), Jet A1

Felthorpe Airfield
Felthorpe is an unlicensed airfield operated by the owner for the benefit of its club members. It opened in 1958 and now has a strong community of pilots and social members. More info.

Holmbeck Farm
Grass airfield 1nm NNE of Wing Airfield. More info.

Netherthorpe Airfield
Netherthorpe opened in 1933 and two years later, Sheffield Aero Club was formed – and is still there, operating the airfield. More info.

Tuesday – Thursday 9am — 6pm
Friday – Sunday 9am – 7pm
