GAPAN (the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators) has announced its scholarship program for 2011, providing the opportunity for students and pilots to add to their flying experience with a number of training options. These scholarships include:
Flight Instructor Ratings – several fixed-wing and one rotary (courtesy of The Weetabix Charitable Trust)
Private Pilots Licence – several full scholarships available, due to the generosity of external benefactors such as The Cadogan Charitable Trust, and Past Master Mike Grayburn, as well as the Guild’s charitable Trusts and the Benevolent Fund. The successful candidates must be over the age of 17 on 1 June 2011
Bursaries for flying instructors – instrument rating instructor (up to £2,500), aerobatics instructor (up to £1,750), multi-engine instructor (up to £3,500)
Two Jet Orientation Courses- the generous gift of EPST in the Netherlands
Various additional scholarships will be coming on line during the early part of 2011, including Gliding Scholarships sponsored by the Young Members’ Group – keep up to date through the website www.gapan.org
