Gloucestershire cuts fuel prices by 11p per litre

Gloucestershire Airport is slashing the price of avgas by 11p per litre, to £1.59 including VAT, during the month of August. This move is addition to the airport’s recent introduction of a loyalty card for visiting aircraft where pilots can register themselves, their aircraft, group or club for a card, free of charge and earn a free landing fee on your fifth visit.
The airfield’s Head of Operations, Darren Lewington, himself a 220 hour PPL, said, “We know it’s a tough time in the industry and we’re keen to attract new and retain customers at Staverton.
“Some pilots might be daunted at the prospect of full ATC procedures and mixing with our corporate and commercial traffic, but our ATC team are well versed in integrating everything from autogyros to exec jets.
“With four runways, including a grass strip, a full range of maintenance facilities, excellent café and Transair pilot shop, we have a huge amount on offer. We also have some exclusive deals for car hire, taxis and accommodation to allow visitors to explore the local area.”
Aircraft under 450kg pay £7.50 inclusive. LAA Permit aircraft and anything up to 750kg pay £12.50. PPL training flights pay £15, while most of the traditional single-engined fleet pay £20.00 or just £14 with an uplift of 50ltrs or more of avgas.
