Gloucestershire to cut avgas price to £1.53 a litr

Following its announcement at the beginning of August that it was to cut avgas prices by 11p a litre, Gloucestershire Airport has now said that it will cut them again to £1.53 a litre, including tax.
Darren Lewington, Gloucestershire Airport’s Head of Operations, explained, “The favourable £/$ exchange rate and a further small decrease in wholesale prices has enabled Gloucestershire Airport to extend its summer avgas promotion and further reduce prices. For September, avgas will retail at £1.53 including VAT, with discounted landing fees available for fuel uplift. In total, 17 pence per litre has been stripped off the price in the last two months.
“We took a bold step in significantly reducing our margins last month and, despite the dreadful August weather, avgas sales have improved. With oil prices forecast to rise in the medium term and the VAT increase scheduled for the New Year, it makes sense for us to do all we can to keep the industry buoyant in the interim.” Click here for more
