Great Oakley granted development permission

Great Oakley Airfield has been granted planning permissions for its development. The additional permissions now allow the airfield to operate a flying school and also to welcome visiting helicopters.
Airfield owner, Tim Spurge, explained, “Thanks to the help of Peter Kember, we have now been able to celebrate these permissions, after 14 months of uncertainty.
“The airfield has been around a long time – twenty years next month – so I’m very pleased that we’re able to move onwards and upwards and hopefully we can continue to develop the airfield and provide more facilities for our visitors.”
Mr Spurge explained the next step may well be a maintenance facility based at the airfield, and welcomes any engineering and maintenance outfit keen to operate from the site.
