The Guimbal G2 helicopter has a strong presence at AERO this year, with five models on the French manufacturer’s stand demonstrating some of the potential roles for the marque, from training aircraft to load carrier and even air ambulance. British agent Andrew Moorhouse of Cotswold Helicopters was also on hand to explain that he plans to have six G2s leased to UK FTOs by the end of next year.
Andy also pointed out a new feature on the G2 that has been added to help cancel out a vibration problem raised by a number of customers. Three small pendulums have been added to the main hub of the blades (pictured) which have, according to Andy, reduced the vibration by a factor of nine, and which will be now included as a standard fitment on all G2s. The pendulums will also be available as a retrofit option costing Euro1,200.
