Hartzell Propeller and Mooney International are in business together as the aircraft manufacturer begins production on the first new Mooney airplane in five years.
Hartzell Propeller has begun deliveries of the company’s three-blade, blended airfoil, scimitar props to Mooney’s manufacturing operation in Kerrville, Texas, for factory installation on its Ovation and Acclaim Type S aircraft models.
Nearly 10,000 Mooney aircraft have been equipped with Hartzell props. Under the most recent purchase order, Hartzell Propeller will supply propellers for all Mooney Ovation2 GX, Ovation3, and Acclaim aircraft models.
“Mooney is pleased to have Hartzell Propeller back in the fold,” said Mooney CEO Dr. Jerry Chen. “We build fast, high performance airplanes and Hartzell props provide the requisite performance and reliability that Mooney owners have appreciated and respected for years.”
