Israeli Microlights grounded

Israeli newspaper Haaretz is reporting that “all ultra-light planes” have been grounded due to “general safety problems”.

The paper’s website says that the groundings follow ‘a harsh report’ from Transportation Ministry chief air accident inspector Yitzhak Raz, following a number of recent ultralight accidents. The report focuses on a crash at Rishon Letzion which is blamed on ‘pilot error’; refresher courses and safety conferences are being planned over the coming weeks.
