Lovat Fraser retires

Lovat Fraser, well known managing director of Tayside Aviation, has retired from the company after 39 years. He formed the company in 1968 along with two friends, and it has grown from its first aircraft – a single-seat Nipper – to being the biggest flying training and light aircraft engineering organisation in Scotland.

Fraser has, in his career in the RAF and at Tayside, logged over 5,000 hours on a wide variety of aircraft including the Lightning, Tornado, Hawk, Tucano, Jet Provost, Meteor, Gnat with the Red Arrows, Gazelle, Scout, Wessex and Hughes 500 helicopters. He has won numerous awards.

Although retiring as managing director of Tayside, he says that he will continue his association with the organisation, particularly during the busy summer months when he will be available to fly with air cadets and conduct Flying Instructor Courses.
