New de Havilland Flying Scholarships open

The Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers has this year introduced a new scholarship in memory of Sir Geoffrey de Havilland. The Coachmakers’ Company is a City of London Livery Company, raising and distributing charitable funds within the aerospace, automotive and coach making industries.
The scholarship is now open for applications from young people up to 30 years of age who have not previously been awarded any such bursary. The aim is to make a significant difference to the applicant’s opportunity to learn to fly.
No previous flying experience is required although evidence of a keen interest in aviation is a necessity. The scholarship value is approximately £4,500 and is to be match-funded by the successful scholarship winner.
The closing date for applications is 5 July 2014.
