There may be a recession, but some things don’t change. NORAD will once again be tracking Santa on his trip around the world tomorrow, bringing vital information to aviators around the world of the (rumoured-to-be-transponder-free) reindeer-powered sledge’s position.
NORAD – the North American Aerospace Defence Command, a bi-national air defence command for the US and Canada – has been tracking Santa every Christmas Eve since 1958. Originally the tracking was reported over the phone, but now it’s available over the internet at www.noradsanta.org.
If you’ve got Google Earth installed, you can view him on that, too.
Remember, if you see a red light (but no green light) increasing in size in your windscreen over the next couple of days – it’s likely to be Rudolph!
