Old Buckenham announces new military display

Old Buckenham Airfield has announced two new developments at the Airfield. Battlefront, The East England Military Museum has arranged for a dozen extraordinary military machines to be on permanent show to the public.
These include the Russian T55 tank which starred in the James Bond thriller ‘Goldeneye’, the only Multiple Launch Rocket System not in military hands and the MGM52 Lance Nuclear Missile.
These machines are joined by an array of weaponry dating from the Second World War to the present day. The exhibits are available for the public to see at all times when the airfield is open – seven days a week from 9am to 5pm.
The airfield has also announced that the café, Jimmy’s, will now be open seven days a week. This is the first time in a little under 70 years that there has been a seven-day catering presence at the former WWII USAAF base.
Airfield Manager, Matt Wilkins said, “For next year we will be adding to the military exhibits with a vintage & nostalgia section plus classic car and vehicle displays. To have a permanent display at the airfield is great news, especially considering what is on offer. To compliment this with Jimmy’s Café being open seven days a week for the first time in 70 years adds enormously to what has already been a great year in the airfield’s history. We now look forward to Remembrance Sunday for a special 70th anniversary celebration.”
