Old Buckenham welcomes world record pilot

Old Buckenham Airfield has announced that aerobatic performer and TV presenter Brendan O’Brien will attempt two World Records at its annual airshow on 23 June 2013.
According to the team at Old Buckenham, the highlight of the airshow will see Brendan attempt the shortest runway length truck top touch and go, as well as the same feat with a full landing.
Applications have been made to the Guinness Book of World Records so that the records can be formally recognised. These difficult records will add to more than 200 aviation world records already held by Brendan, which are ratified by the FAI in Paris.
The attempts will be a part of O’Brien’s Flying Circus, a world famous display of aerial theatre which includes crazy flying and breathtaking pyrotechnics.
Matt Wilkins, Old Buckenham’s Airfield Manager said “We’re truly staggered and delighted to welcome Brendan to Old Buck in June. A familiar face from his work on Discovery Wings, Brendan is known to millions as the face of aviation, a position achieved by being one of the most respected and talented pilots currently flying. His display will be completely unforgettable and the possibility of two world records being set in a day is the stuff of dreams. We can’t wait for June.”
