Patriot in talks to take over Coventry Airport

Patriot Aviation has emerged as the likely new owners of Coventry Airport.Sir Peter Rigby, the owner of Patriot, is reported as having recognised the airport’s potential, and is working to find a way of helping to deliver a sustainable future for the airport.
“I see Coventry airport as a best kept secret,” he commented. “It has the potential to be a General Aviation hub, handling cargo and serving helicopters, light aircraft and business jets.” Councillor Ken Taylor, Leader of Coventry City Council, confirmed that talks are taking place and that Patriot Aviation is in exclusive due diligence. It is hoped that the deal will complete by mid March 2010.
