PocketFMS has personalised announced NOTAM alerts for its EasyVFR software for iOS, Android and Windows.
This development follows the step to allow users to hide NOTAMs they considered irrelevant, leaving only relevant and new NOTAMs that need to be considered by the pilot shortly before flight.
With the new alert system, once the user defines the region of interest, PocketFMS will send a notification to the user’s phone or tablet as soon as a new NOTAM enters the
European NOTAM system.
Mr Rob Weijers, CEO at the PocketFMS Foundation, explained, “The user will instantly be aware of any new NOTAM that affects his area of interest – at no extra cost.
“Expected May 2014, this service will be expanded to include flight plans created by EasyVFR users. The user simply saves their flight plan in the PocketFMS Cloud, and our systems will keep them updated on any last-minute NOTAMs that may affect the route.”
