Piper to shut down for one week in August

We are receiving early reports that Piper Aircraft is planning to shut down it operations over the week of 9 August, putting the majority of its workforce on unpaid leave over that period. The only exceptions appear to be personnel working on the PiperJet project and those involved with preparing finished aircraft.
The reason for the week long shut down is given as being a lower than expected demand for new aircraft during 2010, with a projected figure of 200 new aircraft being revised downwards. Click here for more
