Polar First: Central American rain

The Polar First helicopter pilots, Jennifer Murray and Colin Bodill, have been fighting adverse weather, but are only slightly behind schedule in their attempt to fly round the world via both poles.

Thanks to the bad weather, the pilots have had to divert a number of times, doubling back on themselves and missing out planned trips to some of the schools which they had been planning to visit as part of the charity aspect of the flight.

They are currently in Central America (Panama), and are due to be heading further south today. The weather still isn’t good, but according to the trip diary, there’s another concern: they’ve been advised to fly at least at 5,000 ft to avoid small arms fire.
