Polly Vacher gets under way

Polly Vacher, who became famous for her Wings around the World flight in 2001 (the smallest aircraft to be flown solo around the world by a woman via Australia and across the Pacific) and for her subsequent flights, has set off on her latest voyage. This time it’s closer to home, but it’s no less ambitious.

Polly’s aim is to fly around the UK, landing at all 206 airfields in the Jeppesen VFR Manual, before the end of July. The flight is being made in aid of Flying Scholarships for the Disabled, and Polly hopes to fly with a series of disabled volunteers as her passenger . She’s also publicising her book Wings Around the World.
