Poly Vacher to make another notable flight

Polly Vacher – who has already made two solo flights around the world and was named FLYER’s Pilot of the Year in 2002 – is to make another remarkable trip this summer. However, this time she’s doing it without leaving the UK.

Her plan, which you can see on her website at www.worldwings.org, is to land at each of the 206 airfields listed in the Jeppesen Flight Manual.

The project is called ‘Wings Around Britain’, and the intention is to raise awareness for Flying Scholarships for the Disabled charity, and to promote her book ‘Wings Around the World’, which vividly describes her second circumnavigation (which involved landing on all seven continents).

The plan is for the flight to start on 21 May at Birmingham, to be completed by 31 July.
