Popham seeks support against wind farm plans

Popham airfield is facing a second threat from a wind farm planning application, and is seeking support from the aviation community.
The airfield has previously fought one campaign against the Bullington Cross wind farm that would come to within 1.9nm west of the airfield.
A second wind farm has now been proposed by TCI Renewables, which proposes to build six turbines of 130.5 metres (430ft) high, the two closest being 2nm ESE of the airfield.
Full details of the planning application and how to object are on the Popham Airfield website, or email [email protected].
According to the team opposing the plans, the Council must accept objections up to one week before committee, and that is unlikely to be sooner than end September. The airfield appreciates all continuing support.
