Red Arrows return to nine-ship formation in 2013

The iconic Red Arrows Display Team has announced has announced a return to a nine-ship formation and the addition of three new pilots to the team for the 2013 season.
The team has flown with seven aircraft for much of 2012, following the tragic deaths two team members in separate incidents last year.
The three new pilots are Flt Lt Mark Lawson, 34, from Harpenden, Flt Lt Steve Morris, 31, from Sheffield, and Flt Lt Oliver Parr, 36, from Bath. The team also has a new manager, Sqn Ldr Ruth Shackleton.
Earlier this year, the Red Arrows flew over Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and London to celebrate the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games and also played a part in celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The busy 2012 season draws to a close next week and training for the 2013 display season will begin in earnest in October.
