Second batch of factory RV-12s ready for order

With the first batch of factory-built RV-12 delivered, aircraft builder Synergy 12 has announced that it is taking orders for a second batch of the two-seater aircraft.
“We’ve been a bit overwhelmed with the level of interest and expect to sell out this next group fairly soon,” said Wally Anderson, Synergy Air president. “We’re focusing on doing everything we said we would do and exceeding customer expectations.”
Synergy Air’s RV-12s range in price from $115,000 to $123,000 depending on options.
Most of the first group of RV-12s went to private individuals. Anderson said nearby Lane Community College is operating two in its flight school, and those RV-12s are logging more flight hours than any other aeroplane in the school’s fleet.
“It’s really important to us to get RV-12s into flight schools and flight clubs because younger people can see what affordable flying in a reliable new aircraft is like,” Anderson said. “Students progress rapidly in these airplanes, and they get exposed to glass-panel avionics from the very start.”
Synergy Air expects to build about 30 RV-12s in the next 12 months and up to 50 the following year.
Van’s Aircraft builds RV-12 kits and Synergy Air assembles them. Van’s employees also inspect each airplane during production and again before customer delivery.
“I don’t think we’re going to have any problem getting new orders,” Anderson said. “My focus is on deliveries.” Click here for more
