Second SkyCatcher prototype crashes

There are reports that a second Cessna C162 SkyCatcher prototype has been involved in an accident on a test flight.

The pilot activated the BRS (Ballistic Recovery System) airframe parachute, and was able to walk away from the aircraft. The airframe is said to have been further damaged when the parachute was dragged by the parachute after touchdown.

This is the second incident to have involved a SkyCatcher. This incident is reported to have involved an ‘irrecoverable’ flight condition.

There is no indication yet as to where this leaves the C162 programme.
