Despite reports to the contrary, it appears that the demise of Sherlowe airfield in Shropshire might well have been somewhat premature. Owner Bob Pooler explained that while he has had to reduce the previous 680m length of the strip as a result of a nieghbour no longer making his land available for the purpose, the airfield will continue as a 220m strip, albeit only suitable for STOL aircraft. Bob added that he is also looking at possibilities to realign the strip which should result in it becoming 300m in length.
