SkyDemon announces Mobile MD GPS

Another new addition to the handheld GPS market with SkyDemon announcing the launch of the Mobile MD, a five-ince aviation GPS with a bright screen that is priced at £599 and includes a copy of SkyDemon Plan.
Features of the GPS include a bright screen that is readable in sunlight in most cockpit situations, with two-hour battery life (aircraft power adapter included).
There is no extra charge for European charts in SkyDemon.
Virtual radar shows you features that you are approaching with side-on view, with associated warnings for upcoming airspace, obstructions, NOTAM and terrain.
NOTAM are interpreted and depicted on the main map for instant appreciation of the scope of promulgated warnings. Narrow route briefings can be conducted on the device itself, in case your plans change and you are not near a computer to perform an online briefing with SkyDemon Plan.
Sync with SkyDemon Plan or SkyDemon Web before takeoff, then while flying review TAF and METAR briefings and monitor what the wind is (forecast to be) doing outside the aircraft.
PIlots can try the new GPS for free using the simulator built into the SkyDemon Plan software which is available for free trial download from on its website.
The Mobile MD GPS will go on sale in early August with SkyDemon taking pre-orders through its website.
Look out for an exclusive flight test of the Mobile MD GPS in a future issue of FLYER.
