Stuttgart Airport offers 150,000 euro prize

Stuttgart Airport is promoting the research of sustainable flight with the international Aviation Award 2014 worth €150,000. The prize will reward innovation aviation developments which work on less noise, emissions and energy consumption.
Winfried Kretschmann, Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, said, “In issuing this contest call, Stuttgart Airport is sending out a clear signal for the development of a new environmentally friendly approach to aviation.”
The Aviation Award 2014 is aimed at the staff and scientists of research institutions, universities and other institutes of higher learning and industrial companies. The prize money for the industry will honor projects whose practical solutions for environmentally friendly flight satisfy the expectations of a specialist jury. The Aviation Award 2014 contest opened on 21 September 2012 and closes in January 2014.
