American Legend Aircraft Company has announced its Super Legend has completed S-LSA approval and FAA certification review.
The Super Legend is a Lycoming-powered version of the Legend Cub. It features wing flaps, larger tail feathers, an enhanced baggage area, extended windows, carbon fibre components and adjustable seating.
The Super Legend airframe, based on the popular Legend Cub, is combined with a high performance Lycoming O-233 engine.
According to the company, the two-seat piston aircraft’s flying characteristics can be expressed as “extremely fun”. The Super Legend airframe satisfies the S-LSA GTOW of 1,320lb with nearly 500lb of useful payload. As an amateur-built kit, the same airframe/wing structure can be certified to 1,750lb GTOW. Super Legend pricing starts at $146,800.
American Legend Aircraft Company manufactures the Legend Cub, Super Legend and AmphibCub, all FAA-certified aircraft for sport, recreation and training.
