Tecnam unveils Astore and SNAP at AERO

A flying show’s not a flying show with at least one unveiling or so, and Tecnam can usually be relied upon to deliver the goods at AERO. This time the sheets were taken away to reveal the low-wing Astore LSA, with its stylish light aluminium alloy airframe and carbon fibre reinforced plastic upper fuselage.
In what is Tecnam 65th year of production, perhaps it’s apt that this aircraft is named after the company’s first ever aircraft. And with a price range starting at just Euro 79,900, it’s likely to generate a good amount of interest, with the model’s first sale announced to have to taken place just before the start of AERO.
Alongside the Astore, Tecnam was also showing its ‘SNAP’ aerobatic LSA (pictured), an attractive the single-seat, low wing available as a LSA, ULM or Experimental category aeroplane. With its operational costs said to be a fraction of those for similar aerobatic aircraft, it will be interesting to see the level of take-off for this attractive introduction to aerobatic flying.
