Training schools targeted in safety campaign

Flight training organisations throughout the UK have been targeted in a safety awareness-raising campaign by the Airspace & Safety Initiative (ASI). The campaign, focusing particularly on the risks associated with recreational aircraft infringing controlled and restricted airspace, is part of a larger drive to improve safety and reduce risks in the UK‘s airspace.
The new campaign will see all registered training facilities receive an information pack featuring the ASI’s latest briefing guide on how to avoid airspace infringements. Chief Flying Instructors are being asked to disseminate these key safety messages to all their flight instructors for their daily use with trainee pilots.
The initiative follows ASI’s recent successful re-launch of its infringement campaign at this year’s AeroExpo general aviation event at Sywell Aerodrome. Further activities are planned during the remainder of 2103, including participation at the Flying Show at the Birmingham NEC on 31 November/1 December. Click here for more
