VAC finds warm welcome at chilly Turweston

An icy wind at more than 20kt is not good for old aeroplanes, but the VAC fly-in at Turweston on 23 March still saw more than 20 vintage and classic aeroplanes brave the elements, plus several dozen hardy souls who arrived by road through the day (the cafe was packed!). It was a chilly event, with a great warm atmosphere.
Highlights among the early arrivals at VAC Spring Rally at Turweston were Robert Frey’s Nord 1002/Messerschmitt 108 Taifun on its first post-restoration outing and Jonathan Turnbull in the first-ever DH.82A Tiger Moth to be built, G-ACDA. Later in the day the event was also graced by the gorgeous gullwing Stinson of Neil Knighton.
