Vulcanair V1.0 based on Partenavia Oscar

If you think that the new V1.0 from Vulcanair looks a little familiar, that’s because it’s a barely updated Partenavia Oscar, an all-metal, four-seater, single-engine, high-wing aeroplane built in the 1960s.
The V1.0 retains much of the original aircraft’s characteristics to produce a tough four-seater with a price of around €200,000, so at least while its looks might not make it appealing, the price tag could turn the head of flying schools looking for a far cheaper alternative to mainstream offerings from Piper, Cessna and Tecnam. Powered by a 180hp Lycoming and a choice of fixed-pitch or constant speed props, the V1.0 comes with a Garmin G500 as standard, alongside a GTN650.
Vulcanair Director, Remo De Feo, explained that he’s currently looking for a UK dealer and hopes to have the aircraft available here by the summer.
