Ryanair may have turned down Elon Musk’s Starlink because of worries over increased fuel burn but Cirrus Aircraft has embraced the connectivity for its SR piston aircraft.

There’s a new FLEX SR Mount for Starlink designed specifically for the SR Series, allowing owners to install the compact Starlink Mini and bring reliable in-flight Wi-Fi to the cockpit.

The mount is a purpose-built overhead installation, complete with an optional 100W USB-C power supply that removes the need for external battery packs.

The system is available for late G3 through to the latest G7+ aircraft and can be fitted via Cirrus Authorised Service Centres. Pricing varies by generation, starting at just over $1,000 for the latest G7+ models.
