Continental Aerospace Technologies has been sold by its Chinese owners back to a US-based company.
Arcline Investment Management, a US private equity firm, announced overnight that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the holding company of Continental Aerospace Technologies, Inc. for approximately $535 million from Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).
Arcline has also invested in other aviation companies including Signia Aerospace which has a number of well-known GA brands including Hartzell Aviation, the propeller manufacturer.
Founded in 1905 and headquartered in Mobile, Alabama, USA, Continental is a leading designer and manufacturer of piston aircraft engines and provider of related aftermarket products and services for general aviation.
The Company’s portfolio includes both AvGas and Jet-A engines – it bought the Thielert Centurion range of diesel engines in 2013.
