Cirrus' the-jet flies

Cirrus has made the first flight of its ‘the-jet’. The aircraft took off, flew for 45 minutes or so, and then landed – all apparently uneventfully. The company says that the aircraft performed flawlessly.

The flight of N280CJ – dubbed V1 – took place at Duluth, Cirrus’ main headquarters.

In the meantime, the PiperJet is also reported to be close to its first flight, with taxi tests under way at Piper’s Vero Beach facility
