AvMap, an Italian manufacturer of GPS, has introduced a Cockpit Docking Station for its EKP V portable GPS, which turns the GPS unit into a cockpit installed Multi-Functional Display.
The EKP V Cockpit Docking Station allows the installation of EKP V into the cockpit and enables the unit to access multiple external devices at the same time, meaning the unit can be used as part of the basic on board instrumentation.
When docked the EKP V is powered/charged by the aircraft electrical system and it can connect to several on-board devices at the same time. The Docking Station includes 4 USB ports, 2 serial ports, Audio/Video input and Audio output. The unit is preloaded with georeferenced Approach plates & airport diagrams and Jeppesen Nav Data. VFR and IFR charts (ICAO, Sectionals, etc.) are supported and available for purchase.
