Diamond’s DA40 NG made its first appearance at EXPO Friedrichshafen last week.. The aeroplane has been fitted with the Austro Engine AE300 bringing 168hp to the aeroplane that was previously powered by either the 180hp Lycoming or the 130hp Thielert. Preliminary performance figures claim a take-off roll of 300m with a full power cruise of 160kt at 6,000ft.
The four-seat aircraft should have a useful load of 320kg with standard equipment. Diamond expect to be able to offer the DA40 NG towards the end of the year.
